A potent natural protector and indispensable nutrient, vitamin C is involved in nearly 300 biochemical reactions. A powerful antioxidant and detoxifier, it appears to reduce the risk of viral attack. Vitamin C is an essential co-factor for the metabolism of many other nutrients. As our bodies are unable to synthesise vitamin C, we must rely on a constant intake from our diet and, as it is the most unstable of all vitamins (and is easily destroyed) it needs to be replenished on a daily basis.

    Vitamin C can help to:

    • Assist in the production of collagen - the body's building block for all connective tissue, cartilage, bones, teeth, skin and tendons
    • Help in the growth and repair of tissue and maintain normal blood fat and cholesterol levels
    • Maintain the function of the immune system
    • Assist the absorption of iron from the diet
    • Aid haemoglobin and red blood cell production
    • Provide a protective role as a free radical scavenger and antioxidant
