A healthy baby begins with a happy mum, so the sooner you start to prepare your body for motherhood the better!

Pregnancy is probably one of the most nutritionally demanding times in a woman's life. During this period of rapid development the mother is the only source of nutrition for the growing baby, as the fertilised egg (embryo) gestates and becomes a foetus, taking on average 40 weeks from the date of the last menstrual period.

The UK Government recommends the use of Folic Acid (at least 400µg) from the moment you decide to try for a baby right up until at least the end of the first trimester. We would recommend all the way through and beyond birth, together with many other essential nutrients.

Many pregnant women experience nausea during the first trimester, but this feeling disappears by the second and can be reduced by eating small amounts throughout the day and using ginger.

We would always recommend our Pregnancy Pack and Omega-3 or Flaxseed Oil, for use from pre-conception, all the way through growth and development, right to the end of breast feeding.
